New training underway for Exchange House Learners

The new training year is underway with classes beginning again in IT, Maths, Communications and Personal Effectiveness in Exchange House. We are delighted to welcome back our Tutors for another exciting year.

Outside Exchange House we have learners who are engaged in courses such as Train the Trainer at Level 6, HACCP and Food Preparation at Level 5 and ECDL.Train the Trainer is invaluable in providing peer tutor support in Exchange House for learners engaged in FETAC Levels 1 to 3. The learners who take part learn skills in the areas of working with groups, identifying learning styles and preparing and developing lesson plans.

HACCP and Food Preparation at Level 5 prepares learners to work in a commercial setting, safely storing and preparing food for the hospitality, medical and education industries.  Learners gain skills in the areas of food safety, food handling, preparation and customer service.

Learners who undertake ECDL training cover a seven module programme and gain competencies in many areas including Computer Basics, File Management, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Presentations and Internet and email. This is an internationally recognised qualification with international organisations accepting it as a high standard of skill level.

There are many exciting training opportunities planned for the coming months with Working With Young People Level 5 and Caring for the Elderly Level 5in the pipeline before Christmas, truly representing both ends of the spectrum.
