Exchange House National Travellers Service celebrates 30 years of service

Exchange House National Travellers Service celebrates 30 years of front line services, support and advocacy for the Traveller community across Ireland from Wednesday 20th to Friday 22nd October 2010.

Over the three days we will be hosting a number of events to showcase the work of Exchange House at our headquarters at 61 Great Strand Street in Dublin, graciously provided to us by the kind generosity of the Christian Brothers.

On Wednesday 20th October Ms. Mary Harney TD, Minister for Health and Children, will officiate at our main celebration

Looking Back: Moving Forward

Also on Wednesday we will launch our first taster training seminar for service professionals entitled

An Introduction to the Traveller community

On Thursday 21st October we will launch two more training seminars;

Best Practice in working with Travellers experiencing Domestic Violence

and

Best Practice in working with Travellers with Addiction

Throughout Wednesday and Thursday we will also be holding a

Open House

which will exhibit all aspects of Exchange House's work.

On Friday 22nd October Mr Barry Andrews TD, Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, will officiate at our third

National Educational Achievement Award

in Dublin City Council's Civic Offices. These awards will also conclude Dublin City Council’s contribution to the National Social Inclusion Week 2010 to take place from 18th to 22nd of October around the country.
